Of the economies in the World Bank's latest release, Suriname has the highest secondary education, general pupils (% female) (61.25% in 2015) and Chad the lowest (31.18% in 2016). The world figure is 48.61% (2018).
What this measures
Secondary general pupils are the number of secondary students enrolled in general education programs, including teacher training.
Limitations: The percentage of female enrollment is limited in assessing gender parity, because it's affected by the gender composition of population. Ratio of female to male in enrollment rate provides a population adjusted measure of gender parity.
Each country's latest available year is shown; countries report on different schedules, so compare years before comparing values.
