| Value | Year | |
|---|---|---|
| Latest | 20.57 billion | 2025 |
| Five years earlier | 18.52 billion | 2020 |
| Ten years earlier | 18.21 billion | 2015 |
| Highest | 20.57 billion | 2025 |
| Lowest | 11.36 billion | 1998 |
| Average since 2016 | 19.42 billion | 2016–2025 |
| First recorded | 11.36 billion | 1998 |
Over five years it is up 11.08% from 18.52 billion in 2020 (2.12% a year on average, compounded). Since 1998 it is up 81.04% from 11.36 billion in 1998 (2.22% a year on average, compounded).
In 2025, Oman's industry, including construction, value added (constant LCU) rose 1.6% on 2024 (from 20.24 billion to 20.57 billion).
Across the 26 yearly changes before that (1999 to 2024), the average change was +2.3% and a typical year strayed about 4% from that (the standard deviation). This year's change was 0.2 standard deviations below that average, so it was an ordinary year: it sits within the range of normal year-to-year movement.
On record, the biggest yearly rise was 10.4% in 2008 and the biggest yearly fall was 5.7% in 2003. The numbers show how large and when, not why; for the cause, look at what happened in that country in those years.
From 2016 to 2025 the straight-line trend is upward, about 197.91 million a year. A straight line explains 54% of the movement over 10 observed years.
Worked out from the yearly values above. How the checks work: standard deviation, z-scores and straight-line trends.
In 2025, Oman had the 122nd highest value of the 161 economies reporting that year. Higher is not always better: for some indicators the lowest value is the one to aim for. See the full ranking.
Industry (including construction) corresponds to ISIC (Rev.4) divisions 05-43. It is comprised of mining, manufacturing, construction, electricity, water, and gas industries. Value added is the contribution to the economy by a producer or an industry or an institutional sector, which is estimated by the total value of output produced and deducting the total value of intermediate consumption of goods and services used to produce that output. This indicator is expressed in constant prices, meaning the series has been adjusted to account for price changes over time. The reference year for this adjustment varies by country. This series is expressed in local currency units.
