Egypt, Arab Rep.'s net official flows from UN agencies, UNFPA (current US$) was US$1.88 million in 2023, the latest year in the World Bank's World Development Indicators. That is down 6.27% from US$2.01 million in 2013 (0.64% a year on average, compounded).
| Value | Year | |
|---|---|---|
| Latest | US$1.88 million | 2023 |
| Five years earlier | US$1.16 million | 2018 |
| Ten years earlier | US$2.01 million | 2013 |
| Highest | US$3.24 million | 1999 |
| Lowest | −US$739,744 | 2021 |
| Average since 2014 | US$1.51 million | 2014–2023 |
| First recorded | US$1.67 million | 1977 |
Over five years it is up 62.76% from US$1.16 million in 2018 (10.23% a year on average, compounded). Since 1977 it is up 12.84% from US$1.67 million in 1977 (0.26% a year on average, compounded). The World Bank has no value for 2 of the years in between; the chart leaves those gaps open rather than joining across them.
In 2023, Egypt, Arab Rep.'s net official flows from UN agencies, UNFPA (current US$) rose US$133,210 on 2022 (from US$1.75 million to US$1.88 million).
Across the 30 yearly changes before that (1993 to 2022), the average change was +US$18,375 and a typical year strayed about US$1.14 million from that (the standard deviation). This year's change was 0.1 standard deviations above that average, so it was an ordinary year: it sits within the range of normal year-to-year movement.
On record, the biggest yearly rise was US$2.49 million in 2022 and the biggest yearly fall was US$2.72 million in 2021. The numbers show how large and when, not why; for the cause, look at what happened in that country in those years.
From 2014 to 2023 there is no clear straight-line trend: a straight line explains 12% of the movement over 10 observed years, so the value is moving around more than it is heading anywhere.
Worked out from the yearly values above. How the checks work: standard deviation, z-scores and straight-line trends.
In 2023, Egypt, Arab Rep. had the 64th highest value of the 114 economies reporting that year. Higher is not always better: for some indicators the lowest value is the one to aim for. See the full ranking.

Net official flows from UN agencies are the net disbursements of total official flows from the UN agencies. Total official flows are the sum of Official Development Assistance (ODA) or official aid and Other Official Flows (OOF) and represent the total disbursements by the official sector at large to the recipient country. Net disbursements are gross disbursements of grants and loans minus repayments of principal on earlier loans. ODA consists of loans made on concessional terms (with a grant element of at least 25 percent, calculated at a rate of discount of 10 percent) and grants made to promote economic development and welfare in countries and territories in the DAC list of ODA recipients. Official aid refers to aid flows from official donors to countries and territories in part II of the DAC list of recipients: more advanced countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the countries of the former Soviet Union, and certain advanced developing countries and territories. Official aid is provided under terms and conditions similar to those for ODA. Part II of the DAC List was abolished in 2005. The collection of data on official aid and other resource flows to Part II countries ended with 2004 data.
Regional and income-group figures are computed by the World Bank as a sum.
