China's grants and other revenue (current LCU) was 1.84 trillion in 2024, the latest year in the World Bank's World Development Indicators. That is up 94.58% from 947.3 billion in 2014 (6.88% a year on average, compounded).

| Ten years earlier | 947.3 billion | 2014 |
| Highest | 1.97 trillion | 2007 |

| First recorded | 269 billion |
What the numbers say
In 2024, China's grants and other revenue (current LCU) rose 44.7% on 2023 (from 1.27 trillion to 1.84 trillion).
Across the 18 yearly changes before that (2006 to 2023), the average change was +33.1% and a typical year strayed about 126.5% from that (the standard deviation). This year's change was 0.1 standard deviations above that average, so it was an ordinary year: it sits within the range of normal year-to-year movement.
On record, the biggest yearly rise was 528.3% in 2007 and the biggest yearly fall was 75.7% in 2008. The numbers show how large and when, not why; for the cause, look at what happened in that country in those years.
From 2015 to 2024 there is no clear straight-line trend: a straight line explains 28% of the movement over 10 observed years, so the value is moving around more than it is heading anywhere.

How it compares
In 2024, China had the 17th highest value of the 81 economies reporting that year. Higher is not always better: for some indicators the lowest value is the one to aim for. See the full ranking.

What this measures
Grants are transfers receivable by government units, from other resident or nonresident government units or international organizations, that do not meet the definition of a tax, subsidy, or social contribution. Other revenue is all revenue receivable excluding taxes, social contributions, and grants. This category of revenue includes property income, sales of goods and services, and miscellaneous other types of revenue. This indicator is expressed in current prices, meaning no adjustment has been made to account for price changes over time. This series is expressed in local currency units.
Limitations: For most countries central government finance data have been consolidated into one account, but for others only budgetary central government accounts are available. Countries reporting budgetary data are noted in the country metadata. Because budgetary accounts may not include all central government units (such as social security funds), they usually provide an incomplete picture. In federal states the central government accounts provide an incomplete view of total public finance. Data on government revenue and expense are collected by the IMF through questionnaires to member countries and by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
