What the numbers say
In 2025, Timor-Leste's export unit value index (2015 = 100) rose 18.8 on 2024 (from 161.9 to 180.7).
Across the 19 yearly changes before that (2006 to 2024), the average change was +1.25 and a typical year strayed about 38.14 from that (the standard deviation). This year's change was 0.5 standard deviations above that average, so it was an ordinary year: it sits within the range of normal year-to-year movement.
On record, the biggest yearly rise was 73.1 in 2022 and the biggest yearly fall was 75 in 2009. The numbers show how large and when, not why; for the cause, look at what happened in that country in those years.
From 2016 to 2025 the straight-line trend is upward, about 12.69 a year. A straight line explains 64% of the movement over 10 observed years.

What this measures
Export unit value indices come from UNCTAD's trade database. Unit value indices are based on data reported by countries that demonstrate consistency under UNCTAD quality controls, supplemented by UNCTAD’s estimates using the previous year’s trade values at the Standard International Trade Classification three-digit level as weights. To improve data coverage, especially for the latest periods, UNCTAD constructs a set of average prices indexes at the three-digit product classification of the Standard International Trade Classification revision 3 using UNCTAD’s Commodity Price Statistics, interna¬tional and national sources, and UNCTAD secretariat estimates. This indicator is an index series where 2015=100.
