Key figures
| Value | Year | |
|---|---|---|
| Latest | 102,229 | 2023 |
| Ten years earlier | 5,800 | 2013 |
| Highest | 102,229 | 2023 |
| Lowest | 10 | 2003 |

| First recorded | 10 | 2003 |
Since 2003 it is up 1.02 million% from 10 in 2003 (58.66% a year on average, compounded). The World Bank has no value for 4 of the years in between; the chart leaves those gaps open rather than joining across them.
What the numbers say
In 2023, Tajikistan's fixed broadband subscriptions rose 71.6% on 2022 (from 59,586 to 102,229).
Across the 13 yearly changes before that (2008 to 2022), the average change was +47% and a typical year strayed about 136.9% from that (the standard deviation). This year's change was 0.2 standard deviations above that average, so it was an ordinary year: it sits within the range of normal year-to-year movement.
On record, the biggest yearly rise was 501.2% in 2020 and the biggest yearly fall was 1.6% in 2015. The numbers show how large and when, not why; for the cause, look at what happened in that country in those years.
From 2014 to 2023 the straight-line trend is upward, about 9,260 a year. A straight line explains 75% of the movement over 9 observed years.

What this measures
Fixed broadband subscriptions refers to fixed subscriptions to high-speed access to the public Internet (a TCP/IP connection), at downstream speeds equal to, or greater than, 256 kbit/s. This includes cable modem, DSL, fiber-to-the-home/building, other fixed (wired)-broadband subscriptions, satellite broadband and terrestrial fixed wireless broadband. This total is measured irrespective of the method of payment. It excludes subscriptions that have access to data communications (including the Internet) via mobile-cellular networks. It should include fixed WiMAX and any other fixed wireless technologies. It includes both residential subscriptions and subscriptions for organizations.
Regional and income-group figures are computed by the World Bank as a sum.
