Yearly data from 1968 to 2025, from the World Bank.
Senegal's net secondary income (net current transfers from abroad) (current LCU) was 2.51 trillion in 2025, the latest year in the World Bank's World Development Indicators. That is up 146.87% from 1.02 trillion in 2015 (9.46% a year on average, compounded).
| Value | Year | |
|---|---|---|
| Latest | 2.51 trillion | 2025 |
| Five years earlier | 1.44 trillion | 2020 |
| Ten years earlier | 1.02 trillion | 2015 |
| Highest | 2.51 trillion | 2025 |
| Lowest | -10.17 billion | 1979 |
| Average since 2016 | 1.58 trillion | 2016–2025 |
| First recorded | -747.77 million | 1968 |
Over five years it is up 74.68% from 1.44 trillion in 2020 (11.8% a year on average, compounded). Since 1968 it is up 335,442% from -747.77 million in 1968.
In 2025, Senegal's net secondary income (net current transfers from abroad) (current LCU) rose 230.59 billion on 2024 (from 2.28 trillion to 2.51 trillion).
Across the 30 yearly changes before that (1995 to 2024), the average change was +72.13 billion and a typical year strayed about 94.92 billion from that (the standard deviation). This year's change was 1.7 standard deviations above that average, so it was larger than a typical year, though not out of the range seen before.
On record, the biggest yearly rise was 458.88 billion in 2024 and the biggest yearly fall was 58.71 billion in 2009. The numbers show how large and when, not why; for the cause, look at what happened in that country in those years.
From 2016 to 2025 the straight-line trend is upward, about 155.92 billion a year. A straight line explains 91% of the movement over 10 observed years.

In 2025, Senegal had the 17th highest value of the 130 economies reporting that year. Higher is not always better: for some indicators the lowest value is the one to aim for. See the full ranking.
Net secondary income (from abroad) comprises transfers of income between residents of the reporting country and the rest of the world that carry no provisions for repayment. Net secondary income is equal to the unrequited transfers of income from nonresidents to residents minus the unrequited transfers from residents to nonresidents. This indicator is expressed in current prices, meaning no adjustment has been made to account for price changes over time. This series is expressed in local currency units.
