What the numbers say
In 2021, Indonesia's mortality rate attributed to unintentional poisoning (per 100,000 population) fell 0.04 on 2020 (from 0.27 to 0.23).
Across the 20 yearly changes before that (2001 to 2020), the average change was −0.006 and a typical year strayed about 0.02 from that (the standard deviation). This year's change was 2.3 standard deviations below that average, so it was unusually large compared with the rest of the record.
On record, the biggest yearly rise was 0.01 in 2007 and the biggest yearly fall was 0.06 in 2020. The numbers show how large and when, not why; for the cause, look at what happened in that country in those years.
From 2012 to 2021 the straight-line trend is downward, about 0.01 a year. A straight line explains 79% of the movement over 10 observed years.

What this measures
Mortality rate attributed to unintentional poisonings is the number of deaths from unintentional poisonings in a year per 100,000 population. Unintentional poisoning can be caused by household chemicals, pesticides, kerosene, carbon monoxide and medicines, or can be the result of environmental contamination or occupational chemical exposure.
Limitations: Some countries do not have death registration data or sample registration systems. The estimates on this indicator need to be completed with other type of information for these countries.
Regional and income-group figures are computed by the World Bank as a weighted average.
